Compare breakfast by serving time, meal components and dietary needs, not just the headline price.
How to use this guide: Start with the restaurant’s own current menu and a basket that reflects the food you actually want. All examples are for explaining the method unless an official current source is explicitly linked.
Check when breakfast is served
Breakfast products may be available only during certain hours and at participating branches. A restaurant’s general menu does not always mean that the product can be ordered at the time you plan to visit.
Check the location’s official menu or ordering screen. Delivery availability may differ from dining in.
Define a comparable breakfast
A coffee and pastry, a hot breakfast sandwich, and a multi-item breakfast meal are different baskets. To compare them, decide whether you require a hot drink, protein, a side or a particular portion size.
Comparisons become more meaningful when both baskets serve the same need and include the same extras.
Work out the entire cost
Use a current branch-specific quote for the main breakfast item. Add the chosen drink, any side and applicable fees. If a meal deal covers the exact items, check the offer conditions and final basket.
A hypothetical £4.50 sandwich and £2.80 coffee make a £7.30 breakfast. A £6.90 combination would be lower in this example, provided the products and sizes are comparable. These are illustration-only numbers.
Account for preferences and allergens
Breakfast menus often involve ingredients such as eggs, milk, wheat and other allergens. Dietary tags are not a guarantee of safety, particularly where equipment is shared.
Check official item-specific allergen information and speak to staff if your decision depends on cross-contact precautions.
Use a short comparison list
Record serving hours, selected products, size, total, channel and source. This will often tell you more than a broad “best breakfast” ranking that omits individual circumstances.
Explore our coffee, bakery and fast-food directories for current links to each chain’s official menu.
Put it into practice
Choose the relevant official restaurant menu from our directory. Note the branch, ordering channel and specific products, then use the meal budget calculator or two-quote comparison to test your choices. For allergen needs, check the restaurant’s official information and speak to staff.
