Plan a group meal that suits your family
The family meal tool gives separate inputs to adult and child meals, plus group-wide totals for shared sides, drinks and additional fees. This is helpful when some people will share food and others need individual meals.
Start with a count of people eating. Find current menu prices at the selected restaurant and enter the amounts for your chosen items. Then add any common sides, drinks and fees as totals rather than multiplying them twice.
A realistic calculation method
For example, two adult meals at an illustrative £13 each cost £26. Two children’s meals at an illustrative £8 each cost £16. Add £6 for shared sides and £8 for drinks: the total becomes £56. With an illustrative limit of £80, £24 remains. These are mathematical examples, not published chain prices.
Compare more than the headline deal
When assessing a platter or bundle, note the number of servings and exactly what is included. Do not forget sauces, drinks, extra sides or checkout fees. If dietary needs require separate food preparation, a sharing option may not suit everyone.
Our guide to planning a family restaurant budget explains how to adapt the basket to your group rather than assuming a universal per-person price.
