Purpose and editorial principles
Our editorial goal is to help visitors understand menus and make informed food choices. We favour accuracy, clarity, useful original explanation and transparency about limitations. Content is organised around what a reader needs to know, not around generating a large number of search pages.
Source selection
We use restaurant-owned menu pages, official nutritional resources and corporate statements as primary sources where possible. An official page may show national menu categories but may not provide reliable current prices for a particular branch. Third-party summaries are not treated as proof of product availability or an ingredient safety guarantee.
What a verification date means
A “source checked” date describes when a page or claim was actually reviewed. It is not a promise that all products were individually verified, and it should not be updated automatically on every page request. To publish numeric item prices, a future editor should record the relevant branch, order channel, item size, source URL, amount and the date the price was checked.
Original writing and calculations
Guides are written to provide concrete decisions, useful definitions and hypothetical worked calculations. Illustrative amounts are explicitly identified as examples and must never be presented as current restaurant prices. Meal tools calculate with visitor-entered values locally in the browser.
Dietary and health information
We may describe whether an official site provides dietary filters or allergen guidance, but we do not certify any meal as safe. Products and preparation processes change. Visitors must rely on the restaurant’s current item-specific information and communicate with staff when an allergy or dietary restriction matters.
Independence, corrections and advertising
No restaurant has paid for the initial listings. Brand names are used descriptively. If advertising or sponsorship is introduced, it must be distinguished from editorial content, and relevant disclosures and consent handling must be implemented. Readers can report suspected inaccuracies via our contact page.
How pages are reviewed
Review priority increases where a source link has broken, an official menu has materially changed or a reader provides a credible correction. We may remove an unsupported item rather than replace it with speculation. Archived source notes live in the project’s maintained data and research log.
